Cornwallis Surrenders 1781!

Today, in 1781, Cornwallis surrendered and ended our first war of Independence.

Raise a toast to those fine Men, and remember that our Founding Father's left us a great legacy- one that we have squandered.

And to prove my point you should simply read the following articles:

Economics

US National Debt Clock

Inflation Calculator

Grandfather Federal Government Debt Report

The Creature From Jekyll Island

Our Pantywaist Republic

Judge likely to deny gov't on gay troops order

Feds file legal brief in support of Tenn. mosque

Should Conn. invasion killer die? Jury hears case

Coyotes, not hunters, proposed for Valley Forge

I could go on but these two categories are more than enough to admit H.L Mencken's truism:

"Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin to slit throats."

And then simply remember, or learn- as I did long ago, the best description of the CITIZENS of the Republic:

"He had more than his share of that streak of anarchy which was the political birthright of every American..." Jubal Harshaw, Stranger in a Strange Land - Robert Anson Heinlein
