Head Janitor Kestryll

I call a spade a spade, and it was not the first time either, but then again I was the only one who stated that he thinks Mike Hass is an idiot. Moreover, I provided proof (scroll to the bottom and read the last sentence in the sidebar) in my comment and my post from two years ago, whereas we just have heard that what David said was just so terrible from you (your playground your rules). However, we do have Mike Hass' own statements at your playground in post number three (3)- allow me to quote (I highlighted just three examples of what you decry, Head Janitor Kestryll, in Mike Hass' post):
Codrea is one of the most anti-NRA entities one can encounter. He was one of the failed, venom-spouting KABA group who attacked NRA at every turn, even CA NRA volunteers, in their ourageous attempts to attain some kind of relevance among credible gun activists in the Golden State and nationally.

Earlier this century, not long after Bush was first elected and Ashcroft had barely taken office, these nits tried to fundraise with a "national online petition" attacking Ashcroft! See:
http://web.archive.org/web/200204081....com/petition/
(I bet they think this stuff is long gone)
They tried to blowup a non-existant issue and truly pathetic petition "numbers" into sounding significant, pretending that such non-official efforts (not registered with any Secretary of State anywhere) are influential, while collecting personal-contact-information. (It's illegal to keep the personal info one gathers with a real, official, registered petition.)

Codrea doesn't have CLOSE to the kind of talent one needs to effectively interpret and understand gun politics and God knows, he'll never effect them.

Unless it's to DAMAGE gun rights irrepairably - which he and his cohorts almost did - at the Supreme Court. Extremely misguided and confrontational with anyone that voiced support for NRA, KABA was the most vocal public voice supporting the disasterous "Silveira" lawsuit - a real turkey of a CA "AW" suit that had done nothing but lost everytime it came before a judge (the defendant was far from an ideal gun-owner). But these idiots kept appealing it - all the way, against the advice of every esteemed firearm legal authority you can name. Yep, had the SCOTUS actually heard the stupid thing, it would have decimated the Second Amendment. At least that was the view keld by Kates, Halbrook, Michel and other noted 2A attorneys and constitutional experts, most of who published articles that described Silveira accurately and technically as the high threat to the Second Amendment it was.

[CORRECTION: On a bit of research, I believe I remembered this incorrectly and Codrea didn't propose the following idea, but Brian Puckett, another member of the KABA KLAN] once recommended to CA gun-owners that they just ignore CA's assault weapon laws! Yep, just dare the CA DOJ to prosecute. Now, THERE's a real political chess-player, eh? (Remember, these guys critisized NRA every step of the way!) See
http://www.goodguyswin.org/informati...tem.asp?ID=126

If you ask me, Codrea and his ilk should do less talking and more listening. He could learn a lot from the members of this forum about how to be effective. Rule 1: Learn how to play well with others - LIKE THOSE ON YOUR OWN SIDE.

Mike
Now, I am not trying to start a flame war, a pissing contest, or any such brouhaha, it is just this Head Janitor Kestryll, if you are going to say that David's supporters (note plural) specifically call someone an idiot, please be specific, as I am the one- and I stand by my opinion.

America Freedom to Fascism Authorized version

I watched this tonight after hearing from a friend, and after doing so, I am posting the text and video embed straight from Google. However, I suggest you hit the title and watch it in a much larger window than the tiny one here.

Please visit http://www.freedomtofascism.com to purchase the DVD.

This is the "Director's Final Cut" authorized version of Aaron Russo's documentary, America: Freedom To Fascism (AFTF). It is being uploaded to Google Video for the first time during the evening of October 19-20th, 2006. Aaron has listened to everyone's feedback - volunteers, students, lovers of freedom & liberty, young and old alike - and, true to his word, he is putting this up "for free" on Google Video knowing that the hour has come for Americans to either be awakened to restore the Republic or be swept aside by the dark global forces of fascism that seeks to enslave mankind.

AFTF's main focus comes in a statement with six very simple words: SHUT DOWN THE FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM!!

After viewing the movie, please be sure to visit http://www.freedomtofascism.com where you will soon be able to view a much higher quality "pay per view" Internet version of AFTF, buy the DVD and sign up as an affiliate to sell/distribute DVDs to others.

We also urge everyone to be sure to sign up as volunteer, register for email alerts and tell your family, friends and neighbors about this groundbreaking movie.
Go and give Russo the twenty fiat dollars for the DVD or donate that much to Russo's struggle to get this into theaters, what do you have to lose but the chains of slavery...

Who Wants To Live Forever

The following is taken from the middle of the post:
I'm sure King Leonidas & his men didn't have a death wish. They weren't suicidal & if given the choice they'd have opted for living a little while longer. But they didn't see any way to live & still stop the invading Persian army. I suspect they knew they'd die someday & they'd rather it be while defending their homes than watching their grandchildren bow their knees to a foreign master.

"Only the rocks live forever. It matters not how long you live, but how you live."

That's an old Native American saying. (Some folks may remember the first part as the title of the first episode of the 1978 mini-series Centennial). But the sentiment is as ancient as mankind itself. No one wants to die - or at least most people don't want to die - for its own sake. Sure there are folks who are despondent about a lost love or their failing bodies & they see death as the only way to end their suffering, but most folks don't look at death as the most desirable outcome out of all possible options.
It is one of the finest posts I have read- now go read the rest of it.

Oh yes, voting for the US Presidency really works...

Road to White House may cost $1 billion

By Ralph Z. Hallow
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
December 20, 2006

The chairman of the Federal Election Commission yesterday predicted that 2008 will produce the first $1 billion presidential race and that the $500 million that each party's candidate will need to compete will severely limit the field of contenders.

"The 2008 presidential election will be the longest and most expensive in United States history," FEC Chairman Michael E. Toner told The Washington Times.

"The nominee of each major party is likely to opt out of the public-financing system for the first time ever for the general election," Mr. Toner said.

Officials told The Times that in 2004, both Sen. John Kerry and President Bush considered not accepting public financing for the general election. But they decided to accept the $75 million and the consequent spending cap out of fear of an out-of-control, money-raising race with an uncertain outcome. Both men eschewed federal matching funds for their primary contests.

Mr. Toner said that nominees will seek to raise up to $500 million for their campaigns and that the "entry level" for getting into the presidential nomination campaign as a serious contender will be $100 million by the end of 2007. A candidate who hasn't raised that much by then will not be taken seriously by potential major donors or by the press, he said.

Among the handful of "first-tier" potential nomination candidates in both parties, two are considered safe bets to eschew public financing for both the primaries and general elections.

On the Republican side, Arizona Sen. John McCain, who strategists in both parties consider the best-organized candidate in his party, has the credentials and proven money-raising ability to forgo public money. New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, the best-organized Democrat, is the best bet for non-public financing in her party, strategists say.

"Hillary can raise $350 [million] for the primary and another $250 [million] for the general," one official said privately.

Mrs. Clinton leads and Mr. McCain runs second behind former New York Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani in presidential preference polls of primary voters in their respective parties.

Mr. Giuliani also is expected to have no trouble raising money from a variety of major donors both in the Republican Party -- where economic and national-defense conservatives outnumber rich religious conservatives -- and even among Jewish Democrats who admire his stand on Israel.

Last night in New York, the former mayor and federal prosecutor held his first major fundraiser since he formed a presidential exploratory committee last month. Mr. Giuliani was expected to raise $500,000 from that one "preliminary" event, attended mainly by family and friends at the Times Square Marriott hotel.

Mr. Toner said that realistically, the huge amounts of money required for the 2008 campaign would winnow out, earlier than usual, many potential candidates in what was expected to be a very large field in both parties.

The per-person donation limit at the Giuliani fundraiser last night was $2,100 -- the maximum per-person donation allowed for a primary campaign for the 2008 election cycle -- although Mr. Giuliani has not formally declared his candidacy.

Election officials say the reason that candidates will likely eschew public financing of the general election this time is the larger "hard money" legal per-person contribution -- $4,200 for primary and general elections combined -- and the longer election cycle which, with neither an incumbent president nor vice president on the ballot, will be the most wide-open White House contest since 1952.
I would wager that most of the Paranoid readers know full well what a shill game it has become, but many still vote anyway, nevertheless, I will say remember this:
"Sec. 644. (a) Increase in Annual Compensation.--Section 102 of title 3, United States Code, is amended by striking '$200,000' and inserting '$400,000'. (b) Effective Date.--The <> amendment made by this section shall take effect at noon on January 20, 2001."
Are you going to tell me that spending $500U.S. million for a job that pays $1.8U.S. million, plus other financial benefits, over four years is worth it and that you will remember who brung you to the dance? Sure, you will- those that ponied up ½ of a billion Federal Reserve Notes (commonly called [without the word fiat appropriately in front of it] dollars). However, those that convinced the small contributor, you know the one, he sends $5 - $100.00 hard-earned U.S. Fiat Dollars, to elect HIS man- they will dump his ass and tell the lying cheating bastard who "won" the election what they really want afterwards...

CAIR stifles blogger

The Tampa, Fla., office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Tampa) has claimed credit for shutting down a conservative blogger who cited a fellow blogger's satirical column suggesting "killing all the Arab children is a workable solution to spare our own children."

CAIR persuaded Florida-based Hostgator.com Internet-service provider to shut down RightWingHowler.com, a conservative blog created by Vilmar Tavares, a retired Air Force officer who lives in Spring Hill, Fla.

Mr. Tavares had quoted blogger Frank J. Fleming's Nov. 28 satire column entitled "The Only Way to Ensure that Our Children Don't Have to Fight Terrorism Is to Kill All the Arab Children." That column at www.imao.us ended with Mr. Fleming's admission that he "is trying to write extreme opinions to generate controversy to promote his new book 'The Chronicles of Dubya Volume 1: The Defeat of Saddam.'"

CAIR was not amused.

"We commend Hostgator.com for doing the right thing by refusing to associate with those who spew anti-Muslim bigotry and support calls to violence," said CAIR-Tampa Executive Director Ahmed Bedier. "We believe hate-filled rhetoric is a major contributing factor to bias crimes and prejudice."
So, Ahmed Bedier has his rags in a knot? How about you tell your fellow Mohammedans to quit saying the President of the US and Jews eat babies? Oh, that is right, that is not Muslim satire, it really is the opinion of MANY raghead Mohammadans.

Well, in as plan-spoken American English as I can muster, Fuck You CAIR!

Oh, and someone please pass the baby-sauce...

Received an E-mail in about MapMuse

It came via the freefire@yahoogroups.com subscription and the following is from the message:
Hi,

About 6 months ago, Mapmuse.com began a project- the interactive mapping of shooting and target ranges across the US. We initially researched and populated these maps ourselves, with the idea in mind that shooting enthusiasts would subsequently add to, and enhance, the information we provided. We mapped each shooting range, and provided space for a written description, photo, and link to a website. Since this project was started, the public has made hundreds of additions and enhancements to these maps. We now have one of the most comprehensive databases of shooting and target ranges in the US. If you were one of our contributors, we would like to thank you for your help!

I am writing today to ask that if you know of any shooting and target ranges that have opened or closed in the last 6 months, that you make those changes to the maps. Also, we encourage you to add any shooting and target ranges that we are still missing. You can make changes through easy to use links on the site- if you have any problems, see http://find.mapmuse.com/re1/mmFAQ.htm#A4

The link to the Shooting and target ranges map is:

http://find.mapmuse.com/interest/shooting_ranges

If you are not familiar with MapMuse.com, we are a highly trafficked mapping website with an Alexa traffic rating of approximately 17,000 in the world.
MapMuse's goal is to help people find places related to their interests. MapMuse continues to add new topics of interest each week. If you have a topic that you would like to see mapped, you can suggest the interest on the MapMuse site, and there is a good chance it will be addressed.

Lastly, if you have a related blog, newsletter, or website, a link or a mention would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Cindy Jett

Well, thank you Cindy and MapMuse! Now everyone go check it out and if you have a site or blog then link them as this only helps us all.

Sixty-Five Years Ago Today

When I was a boy, my Father told me how the slant-eyed, little yellow devil bastards performed a sneak attack on Pearl Harbor, except Roosevelt knew and let his people die. My Father did what so many other men and boys did then, but it took him nine months to convince the old doctor signing off to allow him to enlist due to a heart murmur. The doctor finally relented and told him that he would not last a year, however the Old-Man went on to spend twenty-five years in- fighting in two wars (along with a few other fights), and traveling the World. He installed in we boys many things, a great sense of pride in our citizenship, an understanding of duty and honor, and at a very early age, that Roosevelt was a lying bastard hell bent on getting the US into war, and he despised him. Not just for lying about the war, but many, many other things.

However, this post is not for those things, it is for remembering 2,403 dead and the 16,354,000 that served during WWII.

Thank you.
